Here is where my thoughts will flow...

  Paint
I opened doors that wouldn't close
I heard voices that didn't say anything
I saw children
Running
Psychodelic girls running
Little meatle face boys crying
Struggle with something that's screaming and dreaming
Down in a place of red
Paint me grey
It may solve my problems
Sing of Lady Fish
And hand me my guitar
There's more to this than what we are
Nothing is real
Insanity: take me away
Insanity: heal me
Help me not to see red any more
The machines are coming
And I need a place to hide
Paint me grey
It may solve my problems
I will blend in with everything you fling at me
Pitch a fit
And shut the doors
Some how
The voices say things now
And the pictures flash before me
In all colors
I am insane
And I am painted grey.

THE HEAT OF THE MORNING

Between the flowers and the skies
I saw her peeping gently
The heat of the morning shown down
As she danced her holding gaze
All along the pathway
Her scent did pull me on
Between the flowers and the skies
She took my heart and ran.

Something like a senorita
A rose blooming in my desert
She danced and ran with my heart
Playing daintily with its fate
All through the heat of the morning
Between the flowers and the skies
She kissed my lips so lazily
And told me she was mine.

With her I danced dreamily
And found her world of magic
All between the universes
Our eyes whispered to each other
In the glories of her meadows
She told me I was hers.

Playing with destiny, she played me my fate
The heat of the morning shown down
Burning all my skin alone
Between the flowers and the skies
Her meadow now was scorched
All along the pathway
Her scent had triumphantly grown dim.

TEMPTRESS' SONG 8/14/02

(To Be Read In Conjunction With "The Heat of the Morning")
Between the flowers and the skies
I come upon a strand of gold
With glowing danty finger tips
And silver stars carressing my shoulders
In the heat of the morning I come.

Nimble, fiar, and quick am I
All those who are naive of heart
See me once and seek me forever
Between the flowers and the skies
Their wanton searches pursue
My lingering scent calls them on.

Like a rose I bloom
Unfolding foreign perfumes
As a thorn I prick, drawing disappointment
Temptress and snare
In the heat of the morning deceiving am I.

All between the universes
I lie with the sun
And I dance with the moon
This my calling sha ll forver be
Forver be to play young desires.

ONCE 12/27/'97

Once the walls were painted in yellow and green
I think I saw you once in an ice cream parlor
Once or perhaps twice I saw things how they really were
Maybe just once I was young
Once there was something for everyone
I think once I knew you well
Once upon a time I was sure of so many things
Now for once I'm not too sure
I think that once you and I were fine
That once there was a happy land
Once the walls were painted in yellow and green
I think I saw you once in an ice cream parlor.

ADDICTION 6/2/1998

One more addiction
To add to all my problems
The blinding gleam
The liquid feeling
Crawling up my spine
Into my brain
The addiction holds me steady
My skin tightens
My eyes dilate
Problems increase
With all the pain and agony of today
The addiction holds me steady
One more addiction
To add to all my problems
I can't hold my own
I can't hold my thoughts
There's no way in mercy, I can hold you
The blinding gleam
The liquid feeling
Crawling up my spine
The addiction holds me steady.

DISTANT DISCO 3/3/1998

Bluejean colors
A sound of distant disco
Sidewalk chalk blues
She bathed herself in yellow maddness
A curse for those who care
A room with a view
Chalkboards of light
Upside down minds
We find ourselves lost
Backwards mirrors
And a thought of emporers
This is the life we hate
Turn around and face what you love
Something that can't be restored
Scratched up binomial names
With bluejean colors
And the sound of distant disco.
